Tail Tidy / Number Plate Re-locator Kit – Triumph Speed 400 / Scrambler 400 X

I bought this (Speed 400) tail tidy to fit to a Tracker 400. Tec could not guarantee the fit but gave as much information as they had (from another customer). Delivery was very prompt. The quality of the item is excellent. The item fitted perfectly and even contained the spacers I was led to believe I would have to source separately. Excellent service, quality and delivery.

Good instructions and easy to fit. Only a 4 as indicater arm was not straight so had to bend it back myself luckily no harm to paint work. 😊

Looks good and well made. I haven't fitted it yet so can't score 5. Looking at the instructions I am sure it will be 5 once its fitted

Pros: 1) Great quality 2) Quality of fixings is good 3) Great looking 4) Easy(ish) to fit 5) It looks so much better than the horrible stock one 6) It’s great as you don’t need to adjust any original wiring. It really is plug and play. Cons: 1) The instructions are good but personally I struggled with one section, disconnecting the 3 connectors, on the instructions it would be good to have an arrow pointing at each connector. The two indicators are obvious but I nearly broke the wiring trying to disconnect the back light from the wrong place (I pulled out the rubber grommet in the light when it is another plastic connector further down the wiring). But this could just be my incompetence. 2) The rubber grommet supplied is a must, but it doesn’t mention when or how to install so I had to widen the split/hole to pass the cables through, this has maybe compromised the waterproofness, time will tell. Treat yourself to a new numberplate though as the fixing holes don't align with the standard tail. I got a leagal 9x7 numberplate from ebay for £10 and some numberplate screws from Amazon for £3.

Well Made but light weight. I modified it to fit a different bike so i cant comment on fitting. Works best with a 8X6 plate with a 7x5 you can see the indicator stalks more. service and communication with Tec was great.

This tail tidy is well finished and its quality is evident. Finishes off the rear of bike!

Nicely made and fits well, with no modifications or “fine tuning” needed to fit the tail tidy. It’s nice to see that they have listened to earlier reviews and included a grommet to fill the space around the wiring as it passes through the provided hole. All these little extra included parts (grommet, zip ties and heat shrink) ensure a neat job and it certainly looks the part…

A great improvement to the rear end of the bike and works well with the combined rack and grab rail from TBP.

The original tail piece on this bike is offensive to the eyes, this one along with a smaller plate looks in my opinion just right. Easy enough to fit with no cutting of wires and uses the original no plate light. The guys at Tec are great to deal with and I'm sure I'll be back.

Very happy with the product and easy to fit. The bike looks great! However I did have to buy a box of grommets to fill the hole where the wiring passes through. If anyone other customers need one, I have about 100 spare!

Having to use washers to get clearance to the rear lamp is not great, rear lamp wires exposed they are very small gauge and could get damaged as they are very exposed . Stainless steel fixing would make more sense again there so exposed . The tail tidy looks fine when fitted But disappointed with the overall quality

A quality item that is relatively easy to fit on your bike and for me, cosmetically, it looks far better than the standard factory one.

Delivered on time , easy to fit looks so nice maybe as others have said supply rubber bung to stop water and mud ingress but overall very pleased nice quality bit of kit.

Delivery not as paid for with Royal Mail guess Xmas was the reason,When delivered it was very well packaged with full easy to follow instructions easy to fit very satisfied with product. Only thing I would say it would look a bit tidier if the 3 cables from indicators & number plate lamp were hidden other than that perfect. Roger.

Good bit of kit , my only gripe is ? could do with a 25mm grommet where the electric`s go though would make a neater job

Great quality and easy to fit

Very well engineered product and fitted no problem. The only issue I have is the lack of grommet in the kit. There is a big hole where the wiring goes through however you need a grommet to stop all the muck and water being flung up under the seat. Please review and add to the kit chaps. I had to drive round sourcing one.
