Mid or Rear Mount Click-Folding Alloy Foot Rests – Meteor 350 – Black or Silver

£29.99

IMPORTANT – Will only fit early model Meteor 350 with the silencer box under the rear of the motor.  Later bikes did not have this, so have no where to screw the LH peg in to.

After riding the Meteor and after hearing customer feedback – we found that the forward footrest position caused a lot of discomfort whilst riding on uneven roads or speed bumps.  This was due to you being unable to support your weight on your legs, so all shock went through your back

The simplest solution is to have mid-mounted pegs.  Allowing you to support your weight at low speeds on such roads.  It also allows you to vary your leg position on long rides

These click-up folding pegs simply screw directly into the exhaust centre box mounting bolts (please see video).  Note these mounting points are very slightly off-set but this is hardly noticeable when riding the bike.

These pegs can also be used to replace the rear passenger pegs, to keep everything looking uniform

If you fit the black colour option, they blend in so well with the bike’s frame that they are practically unnoticeable when folded up

Our knurled design allows extra grip

Comes in a clear anodised alloy (Silver) or anodised Black

Kit has 2 x folding foot pegs and 2 x M8 bolts and washers included in 50mm and 75mm lengths

Foot peg is 4 inches (10CM approx) long from pivot centre to end and 22mm in diameter

Folding foot pegs

The pegs themselves seem to be very good quality, but fitting them on my Meteor 350 (between the other foot pegs, as a way to stand when riding down bumpy roads) was not at all easy, especially on the right side. Took a fair bit of doing to get it tight on that side. Have yet to use them much, but can imagine it will be very nice to have them on longer rides.

Foot peg fitting

The left side was a straightforward doddle. The right silencer side a little trickier due to the awkward inaccessibility when fitting the back nyloc nut which I managed easily as follows.
Remove the existing bolt.
Prise the top hat washer out of its rubber and slide it over the new footpeg threaded stud. Mount the nyloc nut on the left forefinger with double sided tape and position the nyloc nut in the blind position behind the captive nut ready to receive the stud. Screw the stud thru the captive nut and engage the nyloc nut. Job done, easy peasy.

Well made but...

The pegs are very well made but for the Meteor, they really need some spacers included. I needed to use a selection of washers on the right side so that they tightened up in the vertical position - no problem. The left hand one finished in the vertical position straight away but ended up too close to the frame to fold up vertically. Fortunately, a friend has made me a selection of spacers to bring it away from the frame enough so that it will fold up out of the way.
