YSS High Performance Fork Upgrade Kit – Royal Enfield Interceptor 650/Continental GT 650

Quick delivery from Tec. Second purchase from them because they are a trusted seller. You must drill out the suspension tube though which is not mentioned by YSS. I’ve fitted Racetec emulator valves before which are the same design so followed the same method. Plenty of good instruction vids out there. You do need to buy or make a special tool to lock the damper tube in place before you can remove it. Good points. It’s a quality product and if you have some basic spanner skills it’s easy enough to fit. Bad points. The instructions it comes with are poor. It comes with a pathetically small bottle of fork oil. You need around 900ml of oil for both forks combined so the 200ml or so you get in the kit doesn’t cover it.

I installed the YSS fork and rear shocks on my 650 Interceptor and made a big difference in the ride quality.

works well with the rear shocks by TEC. the combination of the two already meet my expectation as compared to the stocks suspension setup. comfortable for a long ride and a bumpy road. the stocks are stiff and really not comfortable for a all rounder road conditions. of course if you have more budget you can get ohlins or yss rear and back. but for me this is more than enough. for malaysian buyer be prepared with the import tax, but still ok.

An amazing upgrade. Very simple to do. A fork oil measuring syringe is required and I wouldn't just top up the oil so I bought 1l of 15w .the results after are fantastic . No more bottoming out and you can load the tyre up more when braking harder. TEC never disappoint with service or product

have had these shock upgrade kits on my thruxton , street twin and now my interceptor, so I know what to expect, and how well this improves the standard suspension, and gives you adjustability so you can dial it to suit your riding style, great product.

So what I ended up doing as I only had access to a workshop for a couple of hours was to take the old springs out and simply drop the new ones in with the emulators. Tec please do let me know if this isn't the correct thing to do!? However right or wrong its changed the bike. The tops look great, so much better than the original black plastic caps. The bike tracks through corners much better and doesn't wallow or get upset by potholes. I think I need to play about with topping up with supplied fork fluid to stiffen up a wee bit more. As I said I am hoping Tec will set me right when they read this. I would absolutely recommend, its nearly ready for a track day next month. Next purchase will be the rear shocks to go with the front but being in NZ I have to wait and bulk order to make shipping worth it. On that note, as always brilliantly packed and very quick delivery at a very fair price. Thanks Tec.

Ok, so having ridden my bike in all weathers I did have a real problem removing one of the Allen screws holding the forks in (as it has seized solid, then rounded off), so the skills from my formative years keeping 70s Jap motorcycles on the road, came in handy and finally got the thing apart. From this stage onwards, it only took a couple of hours to get the upgrade kit fitted and be out on the road testing. It's a 2 mile twisty road with lots of drainhole covers leading out of my town which used to make the folks complain even at low speed. I'm happy to say that the bike now holds the road beautifully and the kit makes an enormous positive difference. I even found myself searching for bumps in the road (probably senility setting in).

Bike is much more stable at high speed. Buying from Tech was a good experience & fast delivery.

I’ve not actually fitted this kit yet but I don’t anticipate any problems. From videos & other people’s comments the kit should match the TEC rear suspension a treat. My one & only criticism is the lack of info on torque settings, oil weight & air gap not being included with the package. I feel this is a must as I couldn’t even find them on the YSS site. Please get this sorted as your service & quality in the main is exceptional

Hi At present I have not installed this YSS kit to my Interceptor, however I shall be fitting this by the end of the end of February or early March. So I'm currently not able to comment on how much of an improvement this is or will be. Also I shall need to ride on certain roads to have enough testing information to fully appreciate the benefits of this fork upgrade. Given I'm a fair weather rider I would think it should be around May time when I have ridden enough roads and made relevant adjustments to fully appreciate the handling and ride quality improvements of the YSS upgrade kit against the stock forks.

Excellent service from tec motorcycle parts. Really happy with this product, has transformed the bikes forks in to what they should be. The only problem I have is trying to figure out what to do with the rear shocks.

First and foremost, your customer service is second to none. Upgrade kit very easy to fit, and softens the ride substantially, great improvement.

The kit installed easily, but I did need to research the oil level from the TEC site - the level was not included in the instructions. It’s 150mm below the lip of the tube for the Intreceptor/ Continental 650s The front end has been transformed and makes the bike feel much more planted on the road. The kit came with 500mm of 15 weight fork oil, but that was only half what I needed and I had to buy more. Overall, I recommend the kit as a great improvement over the stock front suspension.

Having used Tec bike before they were my fist choice to supply parts for my Enfield, great service and quick delivery again did not disappoint.

Transformed the bike

I thought this was a bit expensive compared the the excellent rear shocks, and it is for what you get to be honest but the quality is top-notch. The money becomes immaterial when you feel the tons of extra confidence you have in the now beautifully damped front end. It manages that rare trick of being supple and dealing with bumps effortlessly, both primary and secondary ones, but handles well and feels super well planted and safe.

The kit is high quality and quite easy to fit. The video is essential watching as it advises oil volumes and details of what fits where. I wasn't familiar with emulators so had to find details elsewhere. The new setup gives a much more comfortable ride and takes the shock out of hitting potholes etc. The handling was always sure footed and confidence inspiring and the kit enhances these features significantly. I've set the preload to 2 mm and the emulator to 2 full turns from zero. I've used Silkolene RSF 5 oil.The video advises sticking with the same brand of oil and varying the grade if necessary, good advice I think. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Fitting this kit was straightforward and the improvement in both ride and handling was immediate. I used a 15W Silkolene fork oil with a 150mm air gap. So far I've done 80 miles so the forks (and the TEC shocks fitted at the same time) are still bedding in, so I'll put another hundred miles or so on the clock before fine tuning both to see what further improvements are possible.

So well made, its a shame you won't be able to see them once fitted!

Great product looks good fits well

Very nice upgrade for the Interceptor. The front of the bike feels more agile now and more like a scooter. The back is not able to hold the line as Good as the new Front, so it has to be changed also I think. Given Fork oil out of the yd’s box is not enough. Only 250ml

Out of all mods on bike this is by far the best. (Handle bar Risers, air filter, fuel booster) Bike feels more stable and planted on the road. Cornering is miles better. Feels like a different bike. Highly recommend. Just need rear shocks and new exhaust

I have not yet fitted this product but all the parts are well made and finished off and ooze quality. on the down side finding information about oil levels is very difficult as it comes with no information, there is a website it recommends on the box but this is all in Thai and is as much use as a chocolate teapot.It is also let down by YSS suspension people as I have emailed them twice so far for information and have never had a reply.

Very well made system and after some YouTube watching not a difficult job to fit, but you do need to be methodical. It comes with 250ml oil this is pointless as you need around 850ml as its best to replace all the oil as when I drained it the old was dirty with some residue (600 miles). the front end is transformed soaks up the bumps better and feels much better at speed in the corners. I just need to change the rear shocks when Tec have them in.
