I had been searching new exhausts for my super meteor, far and wide. Seen pretty much all offerings, from crazy priced, boutique ones to popular versions made in different countries, by different vendors.
I did decide to go with TEC as they are an established reality in this market, and boy was I right to go with them.
Shipment to Italy was pretty quick, after I cleared customs expenses, I got the items in about one week from order to my door.
The exhausts are exactly what they are sold as: slip-ons. Does not take much to remove the old ones and put these on, but they do make a lot of a difference, especially in sound! I have no idea if they change anything with how the bike responds but my gut feeling is that after installing a DNA2 air filter, this was a natural, needed evolution in the upgrade path. Sure the ECU has something new to learn as after installing them I left the bike run for about 12-15 minutes on idle and I could hear the ECU probing around by the slight variations in the rpm it was putting the bike through.
I also bought the heat shields which do compliment the whole system.
I was worried the brushed finish would look weird on the shiny chrome tubes but once I put them on I immediately realized how good they look. Sure you can mirror finish them but I left them as they came, they look (and sound) amazing.
A couple more points: the exhausts come with their db killers, uninstalled. fitting them is trivial and I tried them off and on. Decided to keep them off for the moment.
Not least important: if you have a torque wrench, make sure you use it to properly secure the mounting bolts, especially the original RE ones that mount by squeezing some rubber inserts, you don't want to overdo those, I guess. I did use that and a drop of blue Loctite just to be on the safe side and they have been solidly singing since.
