TEC Paddock Stand Mounting Kit – BSA Goldstar

Parts arrived with all needed bits for installation in good time, however, the edges seemed rather sharp to the touch. Could have been finished off a bit more user friendly.

Just got back from the bike mechanics after having the stand mounting kit fitted. Mechanic said it was a real quality piece if engineering.

Having watched a video of a report by a regular contributor to bikes, I watched his report on the BSA Gold Star, as I was in the process of purchasing one, and his comments about being unable to fit a centre stand, or a place to fit bobbins, I was quite concerned as I regularly used my center stand to do basic maintenances and check tyres for damage. I think this is abrilliant idea, and have just ordered one for my new bike. Thanks for making this important part available.

With the bike not having a centre stand and no provision to fit one then a paddock stand seemed the only option. Didn’t want the swinging arm type ones as never seem that stable to me . Fitted these mounts relatively easy , there’s a video if you need any instructions on how to do it that very good . Had to make sure I got the bobbins in the right holes on the brackets as with my stand it comes writhing 1/4 inch of the exhaust but at least it clears it , so very happy 👍🏻

These components went on easily but do seem to require paddock stands with rigid not rotating hooks. My existing paddock stand, while it had bobbin hooks would not fit because the hooks were free to rotate and were unable to lift the bike even on the lowest setting where the stand was able to foul the Goldstar standard silencer. I had to get another stand more similar to that shown in the video. This is, to be fair, more of a problem with the bike design which limits options, one of which is to buy BSA's own stand. The idea though is to have one stand for all your bikes (if you're lucky enough to have more than one!)

Plain and simple and do the job. No more lack of center stand issues. Cheers team!

The paddock stand mounting kit is a life saver when it comes to motorcycle maintenance.

It looks very well made but I haven’t had a chance to fit it yet. Without the kit using a paddock stand is not possible without removing the silencer so this will make maintenance much easier.

The products are good quality and fitted well. They also functioned just stated, the bike now sits on a paddock stand. The only minor comment would be, the plate should have the cut edges softened or shamfered so not to damage the paint work.

We all know the frustration of having no centre stand on the BSA Gold Star so I thought this was the solution but for me it hasn’t really worked because I need the bobbins at the lowest position to be able to engage thr paddock stand hooks and this means the stand is almost vertical and it is impossible to put enough pressure to lift the bike. The kit itself is very well made and reasonably easy to fit albeit a bit fiddly. Wether it solves the problem is more dependant on the type of paddock stand. My stand is an Oxford Big Black which works fine with my other bikes but not with the Gold Star. The search is on for another stand,

Good quality finish on brackets and easy to fit in thirty minutes,now is easy to clean my chain etc.

Thanks for the quick delivery of the items I ordered, tail tidy and rear paddock stand brackets. As of to date, I’ve not fitted items due to holidays. I’m fitted them after the first 500 miles service, later this week. I will keep you updated on progress and thoughts as soon as I can. Happy with it but be careful

Very well made piece of kit, fitting will require a wheel chock bolted to floor and a small piece of wood etc and a jack to raise the rear of the bike, you will also need a 22mm ring spanner to remove the wheel nut as there is no room for a socket (exhaust very close) once you have the rear of the bike lifted very easy to fit and works a treat on the highest lift setting for my stand, very pleased and well thought out. Adjusting the chain tension bolts is a little difficult again to to the exhaust position.

Nice kit,easy to fit and handy to be able to lift the rear tyre.
